Enon UMC Girl Scouts

Enon UMC proudly hosts Girl Scout Troop 34160 of the Honey Creek Service Unit of the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio. This unit is chartered through Enon UMC. Point of Contact: Troop Leader Heather Myers,  heddgt@yahoo.com. Troop co-leaders are Cara Grigsby and Teri Sterner.

In 2021, the Troop is working on completing a journey by producing a video on social media about bullying awareness. After that, the Troop will begin work on their Silver Award for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year. The Silver Award is the the highest award a Cadette can earn.  The Troop resumes regular monthly meetings in September on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in Roth Hall.

In 2021, the Troop has been busy with camping and zip lining as a bridging ceremony (see pictures below). These events bridged eight girls from Junior to Cadette, which was a year late because of Covid, but the Troop wanted to wait for the ceremony until they could get together and do something awesome. At another event, a couple girls attended an event put on by female firefighters down in Sharonville to train like an emergency responder for a day (see pictures below).

In 2020, the Troop was comprised of 11 Junior and Cadet girls who are entering 5th through 7th grades in the Fall. The Troop meets the on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in Roth Hall.

In 2019, the girls earned their Bronze Award for providing over 140 backpacks to kids entering foster care in Clark County. The Troop also collected diaper bags and lunchboxes. The backpacks were filled with some basic necessities and some fun things. The Girl Scout Bronze award is the highest honor a Junior can achieve. This award recognizes Girl Scout Juniors who team up to make a different in their community.
